As of April 14, Alabama had 3,900 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 100 deaths, leading to shortages in medical supplies and testing materials statewide. Due to the contagious nature of COVID-19, the Alabama Department of Health (ADPH) urges people who are showing symptoms such as fever, cough, and other respiratory issues, to contact their physician rather than showing up at the ER or a doctor’s office.
Still, those who are at high risk of exposure from coronavirus such as healthcare workers, those over the age of 60, diabetics, and those with lung conditions should receive testing immediately if they suspect an infection.
